When it comes to the requirements stated by the Embassy of Senegal in regards to passport and visa photos, it is difficult for photo-booths and home computers to meet the standards. That’s why you need to have your Senegal passport photo or visa photo taken professionally, as it will prevent any delays that could occur with your application, which could possibly affect your travel plans.

Senegal Passport Photo and Visa Photo specifications

  • Your application must include two identical photos, each measuring 2” x 2”. They will need to show your full head and the top of your shoulders, and you face should cover around 60%- 70% of the picture. When printed out, this means your face should measure between 31mm – 36mm from top to bottom. Your photograph will need to clearly show your full face, and your hair must not cover any part of your face. Your face must be in the center, and the photo needs to reflect your current appearance – this means it needs to have been taken in the last six months.

  • The photo should be taken against a plain white background, with no other people or objects visible. There cannot be any shadows anywhere in the photo, either on you or the background.
  • While the photo is being taken, you must maintain a neutral expression, keeping your mouth completely closed. You also need to keep your eyes fully open, and look directly into the camera.
  • Your head must remain completely level while the photo is being taken. It cannot be tilted even slightly, or it is likely the application will be rejected – this is actually one of the most common reasons for rejection. Both sides of the face need to be in equal proportion.
  • The camera must remain at eye level, so that your eyes are in the center of the final picture. The eyes themselves cannot be covered by glasses frames, or by your hair.
  • We highly recommend that you remove your glasses while your photo is being taken, to ensure your application has the best chance of success. If you need to keep them on, then it is vital that there is no glare or reflection on the glasses, and the frames must not obstruct any part of your eyes. Any tinted glasses or sunglasses are forbidden, and must be taken off before the photo is taken.
  • Headwear is only allowed for religious and medical reasons. Even so, your full face needs to be visible, both from top to bottom and ear to ear. The headwear cannot cause any shadows on the face.

The physical photo needs to be printed on high-quality white paper, with a suitable amount of gloss. The brightness and contrast must be at an acceptable level when the photo is taken- it cannot be digitally altered in any way. Photos which are found to have been altered are liable to be rejected.

At Reload Internet, we guarantee that our staff will provide you with a set of high quality photographs that meet all of the requirements stated by the Embassy of Senegal, and will pass with your application first time.

We receive all of our specifications directly from the official Embassy of Senegal’s guidelines on passport and visa photographs, which can be found here.
