How long does it take to update my OCI / Renew my OCI / Re-issue my OCI.

From start to finish, we will aim to get your paperwork and OCI application formalities completed very quickly.

What are the Time scales before you can travel?

If we advise that you need a digital application, you will be able to travel immediately after visiting us in Paddington. If your situation for example is that you have got a new passport and need to update your passport number ONLY and there are NO changes to any details of your OCI including:

• No change to your name on OCI
• No change to your Marital Status
• No change to any other personal particulars apart from passport number, then
• You will not be required to visit VFS and we can complete everything for you in store and no fee is due to Indian High Commission for your renewal.
• Your age is a factor

In this case we will provide you proof of upload via screen shots, and will attach a Letter from the High Commission to allow you immediate travel rights.

As per Indian High Commission Rules, NO new OCI will be issued to you and no print out of the application will be required as this will be digitally uploaded to the Indian High Commission.

You will USE the same OCI card you have to travel with your new Passport as you have completed the DIGITAL application and we will provide a letter from the high commission to state that ALL digital formalities have been completed by you.

NON COMPLIANCE AND NON FILING OF THE DIGITAL APPLICATION may result in you not being able to travel and we will complete everything for you instore.

Do I need to update my OCI / renew / reissue my OCI when I turn 20 or 50 years old? I was under 50 when I had my oci card but now I’m over 50 so I need to update

Yes we will complete a papered OCI application for you when you turn 20 or 50 years old as your face changes at these ages. So as an example, if you were 12 years old when you first got your OCI, and your passport expires at 22. At 22 you apply for a new passport, get one, then at that time you will need to renew your OCI, not when you turned 20. The main point to remember is that you need to complete an OCI application for renewal every time you update OR renew your British passport OR make a change of particulars, so your OCI matches your main UK passport.

We will complete a papered and digital application for you if you are:

• Changing name on your OCI
• Changing your Date of birth on your OCI
• Changing Nationality on OCI
• Changing Marital Status
• Any other change in personal particulars (with or without passport)
• IF YOU HAVE LOST or DAMAGED OCI BOOKLET and you may wish to change some details and we will do this as part of the service, so change of details and lost OCI replacement

Do I need to visit VFS for a OCI Renewal / Update or Change of Particulars?

We only serve clients that we have completed their OCI application for. We will advise you if it is needed or if we can simply file a digital application on your Behalf. If an appointment is needed we will find one an appointment for you and this is included in our overall fee. To date, we have had a 100% VFS booking rate for all of our clients, so you can rest assured that we will be able to find you a booking at VFS.

I have lost my OCI – what do I do?

If you have lost your OCI or it has been damaged, then yes, you will need to inform the VFS and the Indian High Commission. At Reload OCI we can do this all for you at a very reasonable price. We will fill in all relevant forms on your behalf, take your photos and book you into VFS, so the whole process will be trouble free. OCI Renewal / Updation / Renewal your OCI digital photo requirements

Our staff understand the OCI requirements for your OCI passport photo and we will follow the exact standards and the Indian High Commission working together with VFS Global have very strict definitions on the OCI visa application and they will not accept photos taken from a passport booth.

Your OCI Photo image will be resized to the following requirements:

• JPEG / JPG format with a maximum size of no more than 500kb.
• We will ensure that the height and width of your OCI Photo will be equal.
• The minimum dimensions will be 200 pixels (width) x 200 pixels (height).
• The maximum dimensions will be 1500 pixels (width) x 1500 pixels (height).

OCI signature digital upload requirements

Your OCI Signature image will be resized to the following requirements:

• All shadows removed and a perfect white background
• The height and width of the Signature Photo will have an aspect ratio 1:3 or 1/3
• The minimum dimensions will be made to meet the 200 pixels (width) x 67 pixels (height).
• The maximum dimensions will be made to meet the 1500 pixels (width) x 500 pixels (height).
