You must ensure that the Slovakian passport photo or visa photo you submit with your application to the Embassy meets all of the criteria stated below. If it does not, then it is likely that your application will be rejected at the Embassy of Slovakia due to a photograph error. Slovakian Passport Photo and Visa Photo specifications:
- You need to submit 3 identical recent (no more than 6 months old) images that measure 40mm by 35mm with a plain white or light gray background.
- Your face must take up between 70 – 80% of your photo (with a measurement of between 28mm and 32mm from the tip of the chin to the crown of your head).
- Your eye line needs to be between 20mm and 30mm up from the bottom of the photograph.
- The image needs to be taken of a person who is looking directly at the camera so that it can equally capture both sides of your face. This image cannot be taken portrait-style.
- It is also important that the image has a good focus on it as to capture all of your unique facial features.
- You will need to have a neutral expression, with a closed mouth and opened eyes. Your image will not be accepted if you are smiling, frowning, squinting or have raised eyebrows.
- If you have to get a picture for a young infant or child that cannot support themselves, you should take this image from above as they lay down since there cannot be any sign of an object or person holding them in the picture.
- The photo must be in focus and have a sharp image that clearly displays your natural skin tones.
- You cannot have any headwear on in the photograph and it is recommended that you do not wear glasses.
- They will need to be printed out on quality paper with a resolution of around 600 dpi.
- You are not able to digitally manipulate these photographs as a way to remove any fine lines or wrinkles in the images and the images must be in perfect condition when they are submitted.
Slovakian Visa Photo information:
- The requirements for your visa photographs are exactly the same as if you were getting your passport. You need to have the same up-close shot of your head in the image and it is important that you have a clear picture that shows your entire face from the bottom of your chin to the top of your head. Your face will need to be in the middle of the picture and it needs to include the top of your shoulders as well. It is also important to note that you will not need a visa if you are a U.K. citizen that is staying in the country for less than 90 days.
